To create a new account for the Tunen app, follow these steps:

  1. 01 Open the app: The first time you open the app you see a screen headed "Hello!" with information about location tracking.
  2. 02 Consent: Tap Continue at the bottom right to reach the sign-in options.
  3. 03 Choose how to register: You have two ways to register as a new customer:

  5. 05 Done: Return to the app. Once the confirmation is recognised you see the Account screen and registration is complete. Restart the app if you are not taken to the account overview automatically.

App overview

The home screen (called Overview in the app) is your starting point for daily work. As soon as you open the app you land in the map view. This is how the screen is laid out:

  • The map (centre):
    • Centring: The map automatically shows all your fields at a glance.
    • Colours: Fields are coloured by crop (e.g. wheat or rapeseed). Fields with no crop assigned appear white.
    • Interaction: Tap a field on the map to see its name, size and the most recent activities. The Route button navigates you straight to the field.
  • Top of the screen:
    • Field search: At the top left you can search for a field by name.
    • Activity list: The list icon (three lines) takes you to the overview of all documented work.
    • Main menu: The Tunen logo at the top right leads to Stock, Notes, Data export and your account settings.
  • Tools at the bottom:
    • Activity Recognition (left): The green Start work button starts automatic recording of your trip and working time.
    • Copilot (centre): Opens your digital assistant, which takes voice commands and answers questions about the farm.
    • New activity (right): Record a new activity (e.g. a spraying) by hand.
  • Main navigation (very bottom):
    • Overview: Always brings you back to the map view.
    • Tasks: Work orders assigned to you or your team members.
    • Review: The tick icon shows a red number for how many activities still need to be checked and confirmed by you.

Add team members

To add a team member to your farm, follow these steps:

  1. 01 Where to go: On the home screen, tap the Tunen logo and then choose Farm from the menu.
  2. 02 Start: Scroll to the "People" area and tap the "+" icon.
  3. 03 Choose how to invite: A menu opens with three options:
    • Add by code: Enter the person's user ID (e.g. composted-mowing-wheat). They find this ID in their own profile, under their name.
    • Add by email: Enter your colleague's email address to send an invitation.
    • Add an unregistered person: For internal planning: people who do not (yet) use an account in the app.
  4. 04 Confirmation: Once the system has found the user, they are added to the farm. The farm then appears automatically on the Account screen of the new team member.

Note: Only users with the Farm manager role can invite new people to the farm.

Activity Recognition

The right settings (important): For recording to work reliably, your phone's location access must be configured correctly:

  • Android: Press and hold the Tunen app on the home screen, tap the info icon (i), choose Permissions → Location and make sure Allow all the time is selected.
  • iPhone (iOS): Open Settings, scroll to the Tunen app, tap Location and choose Always. Also switch on Precise Location.

On the home screen:

  1. 01 Start work: In the morning, or before you set off, tap the green Start work button at the bottom left of the map.
  2. 02 Recording: The system now detects movement in the field and transport trips automatically, and suggests matching activities based on your location and the farm history.
  3. 03 End work: At the end of the working day, stop recording with the End work button. This also records your working time for the timesheet.

Rules for everyday use:

  • Leave the app open: Never close the app manually in the background (swipe up) while working: recording stops immediately.
  • Always review: The AI reaches an accuracy of up to 95%. A manual check of the recorded data by you is therefore always required.
  • Offline mode: Without an internet connection, Activity Recognition records GPS data locally and uploads it automatically once you have a stable connection again.

Copilot

Open Copilot: On the home screen, tap the Copilot button at the bottom centre. A new chat starts automatically each time you open it.

How to use it:

  • Voice input: Tap the microphone icon at the bottom right and simply say the activity (e.g. "I spread 200 litres of slurry on North field today").
  • Text input: You can also type your questions or data in the "Enter message..." field.
  • Attachments: The paperclip icon lets you upload photos or files directly.
  • Quick actions: Use the predefined buttons such as Record spraying task for a fast start.

What Copilot can do for you:

  • Record activities: It turns your voice notes into complete records and assigns them to the right field.
  • Answer questions about the farm: Ask about past work, e.g. "What was the last spraying on field X?".
  • Knowledge base: It explains app functions and answers agronomic questions.
  • Task management: Create new tasks for yourself or your team members from the chat.

Good to know:

  • Internet connection: Your phone needs an active internet connection to process voice commands and requests.
  • Chat history: The clock icon at the top right brings back earlier conversations at any time.
  • Your responsibility: Always check Copilot's output critically: you remain responsible for the accuracy of the documented data.

Manual entry

If you want to enter an activity (e.g. fertilising or sowing) by hand rather than automatically, use the activity form. Follow these steps for a precise record:

  1. 01 Start: On the home screen, tap the New activity button at the bottom right.
  2. 02 Choose the activity type: Pick the kind of work at the top (e.g. Tillage or Sowing). The input fields adjust automatically.
  3. 03 Enter the details: Fill in the required values, such as working depth or application rate.
  4. 04 Assign resources: Use the corresponding buttons to add the people involved and the machines used. The + More resources button adds further inputs (e.g. fertiliser for a sowing).
  5. 05 Select fields: Tap Select fields at the bottom right. Find the field in the list or filter by the active crop (e.g. wheat). Use the plus and minus icons to assign the activity to one or several fields at once. Confirm with Done.
  6. 06 Save and finish:
    • Save (top right): The data is stored, but the activity stays in the "Pending" state and must be reviewed later.
    • Reviewed (large button at the bottom): The activity is saved and marked as verified immediately. It no longer appears in your review list.

Create tasks

The Tasks screen is where you manage planned work orders for yourself and your team members. This is how it works:

  1. 01 Open: Tap Tasks in the main navigation at the bottom of the screen.
  2. 02 Your own view: By default the system shows all open tasks assigned to you personally.
  3. 03 Switch user: Want to see what your colleagues have to do? Tap the selector next to your profile name at the top of the screen to choose another team member.
  4. 04 View details: Tap a task card in the list to open the full activity with all its details.
  5. 05 Check the content: The detail view shows every parameter needed for the work, for example:
    • The type of activity (e.g. "Spraying").
    • The date and the assigned machines and people.
    • Specific requirements such as the application rate or BBCH stage.

Review

The Review area is where data recorded by the AI (Activity Recognition), by Copilot or by team members is checked and confirmed. This keeps your documentation correct for compliant reporting. This is how to use it:

  1. 01 Open: Tap Review at the bottom right of the main navigation. A red number on the icon shows how many activities are still waiting for review.
  2. 02 Check the data: The overview shows the key details per activity: type (e.g. "Spreading"), date, resources used (e.g. fertiliser) and the fields worked.
  3. 03 Confirm (verify):
    • By gesture: If everything in the card is already correct, swipe the activity to the left to confirm it directly.
    • In the detail view: Tap an activity to adjust details such as quantities or times, then tap the large Reviewed button at the bottom.
  4. 04 Make corrections: To change an activity you have already reviewed, open it again and reset its state with the Unreviewed button. It then reappears in the review list.

Note: An activity is stored in the system even before it is verified. The Review screen is your tool for securing data quality at the end.
